It's all GO in Waihi!
Go Waihi, the local community promotion group, kicked off the year with energy. No sooner had they packed away the Christmas tree and wreaths than they began organising their next event.
Go Waihi was established in 1997 to promote the town and support its local businesses. The Society is governed by a small, dedicated committee of volunteers who organise popular local events like Christmas at the Lake, Shop and Win, the Waihi Warm Up Party, and Business after 5, creating opportunities for the community to connect.
Go Waihi is committed to promoting the Waihi area as an appealing and distinctive destination to live, work, and visit. The organization seeks to expand its business membership and has initiated a membership drive. Membership offers a range of advantages, including participation in Business after 5 events, opportunities for networking with other businesses, and collaborative involvement in community events that contribute to the town’s development.
Preparations for the upcoming Go Waihi Warm Up Party are in full swing. Each year, this event transforms our town into a hub of chrome, horsepower, and nostalgia, attracting over 300 hot rods and classic cars along with more than 10,000 visitors. Organising an event of this scale requires careful planning and significant funds. The Go Waihi team is currently seeking sponsorship from local businesses, so please reach out to them and help support this vibrant event.
