SH2 KARANGAHAKE GORGE – OVERNIGHT CLOSURES, 06-10 NOV
Further resurfacing work will require State Highway 2 Karangahake Gorge to be closed between 8pm-5am for 4 nights, from Mon 07 Nov to Thu 10 Nov. Weather permitting, this will require a full road closure between the SH26/SH2 intersection in Paeroa and the SH2/Dean Cres intersection in Waihi.
Detour options are to the north - via Hikuai and Kopu (an extra 1hr 20 min), or to the south - via Tauranga & Matamata (an extra 1hr 45 min). K-Gorge & Waikino residents should note that teams will be working at multiple sites within the closure area and will assist with necessary travel where possible.
Please note that Stop/Go traffic management will be required in the Gorge overnight on Sun 06 Nov prior.
