Hauraki Waka Ama Club was created to provide opportunities for whānau in gaining confidence within individuals and their whānau whilst paddling on the Awa (river) and Moana (ocean) of Hauraki.
The club was established to:
- Promote the use of Waka Ama
- Provide an avenue for whānau to connect better with each other and other whānau.
- Connect with the Awa and Moana in Hauraki.
- Create an opportunity for whānau to achieve success at different levels from personal satisfaction through to a competitive environment.
Hauraki Waka Ama is committed to creating a Healthy Whānau environment and encourages healthy lifestyle practices amongst all those who participate in the Sport of Waka Ama.
Paddling Locations include: Paeroa & Waihi Beach
All ages, ethnicities and abilities are welcome to participate socially or competitively.
