Waihi and Waihi Beach in the southern Coromandel are the impressive setting for the spectacular Nugget Multisport Festival.
The Full Nugget Multisport race will take you on an unforgettable adventure from Waihi’s charming town centre to the spectacular northern Tauranga Harbour and the white sands of Waihi Beach, before returning to Waihi via breathtaking coastal trails and lush farmland, to the edge of the mighty Martha Gold Mine and our unique finish line under the shadow of the iconic Cornish Pumphouse.
The Nugget MultiSport Festival began in 2010. It brings you all that’s great about being outdoors and active in New Zealand, and rolls it into an event that anyone can be part of.
The festival includes five event options;
- Full Nugget MultiSport Race — Road Bike + Kayak + Trail Run + MTB, for individuals or teams.
- Half Nugget Duathlon — Trail Run + MTB, for individuals or teams.
- 23 km Trail Run/Walk.
- 10 km Trail Run/Walk.
- 6 km Trail Run/Walk.
Our Friday night race briefing and Saturday night major prize giving are must-do functions to complete your Nugget Waihi experience.
Combine all this with the carnival atmosphere at the unique finishing arena in front of Waihi’s iconic Cornish Pumphouse and you’re set for an awesome weekend. So come along and discover gold at The Nugget Multisport Festival, Waihi and Waihi Beach.
