Hey, we’ve made it. Finally after four and a half months we’ve got ourselves a three day weekend. We’ve got a beautiful piece of paradise with plenty on, and lots of visitors too. Welcome to a happening place where you can slow down and relax, and still have lots to do. A bit of sand between the toes, an event or two, some down time and you’re almost set. With that said let’s see if we can entice you out this weekend. Check out what’s on and coming up through Goldfest around Waihi.
LET’S BREAK IT DOWN ... FIRST UP ART WAIKINO
Friday, they’ve got their wine and cheese and Meet the Judges event at 6.30 pm at Victoria Hall, $10 and you’re in. That’s where all the art is on display and for sale. Art, sculpture, photography of people, photography of other than people and craft are the categories. Allow a good hour or so to see everything and Saturday to Monday they’re open 10 am to 4 pm and entry’s a gold coin.
NUMBERS UP WITH CRUNCHIES COMPETITION
How many Crunchies were there in the 50 plus shop windows through Waihi over the holidays? We’ll have the answer to that question next week, along with the winners’ names. Judges are sorting through all the entries and the three closest will win New World Waihi vouchers valued at $100, $75 and $50. Good luck.
WAIHI FOOTY TOURNY SATURDAY & SUNDAY
A great setting at Morgan Park welcomes spectators and the teams competing in the annual tournament that sees shorter halves and fast action starting at 9 am tomorrow and 9.30 am Sunday.
