It’s been just a little nippy first thing recently, and then we get these awesome autumn days. That is apart from the couple of wet ones but hey, I’m still happy with the steady temperatures and the beautiful array of colours in the trees at the moment. It’s interesting seeing the mixed clothing choices with a beanie and hoodie being worn alongside a singlet and shorts pretty popular right now.
PICTURE WORTH A THOUSAND WORDS
Actually, this photo was worth a brand new Panasonic Viera 40” Flat Screen LED TV and the winner, while not speechless, was so pleased he entered. Karl Tretheway is a Beach Hop nut – his words not mine – and took hundreds of photos at Waihi’s Warm Up Party for Beach Hop. He entered GO Waihi’s Snapshot Photo Competition and the judges chose his photo of cars arriving in Waihi as the winning photo. Karl’s a builder in Tauranga and will be picking up his new TV to replace his ageing 32” model. Many happy hours viewing Karl. And a big thanks to everyone who entered, cool shots. Lots of the photos are here on our town website.

3 x males 50 +, 5 x females 50+, 1 x female 20 to 50 or 1 x female 35 to 55. Auditions are being held between 2 pm and 5 pm on Sunday at Waihi Drama Society’s Boyd Rd Theatre for their upcoming show “The Last Resort’. Set in a retirement village complex the residents are planning a concert to raise funds for a sightseeing bus trip and a little gambling at the casino.
