Here we are on the last day for senior exams, so it’s holiday time for lots. There are the brave bods already swimming, others getting some tan lines with the sunshine be... Read more »
I’m starting to see a build towards summer, holidays, Christmas, another year … and so little time! We’ll get there, just pace yourself. It’s exciting to see the change of weather and attitude at the same time, or is it just me? It’s great to see people outdoors enjoying what is easy to take for granted. The water’s warm, sunscreen goes without saying and keeping up the liquid intake’s important. There’s plenty on over summer and there’ll be time to relax too. Santa on the othe... Read more »

What a difference a week can make, and even just two days there can be massive changes as we saw last week with the storm and after effects around the country, and in particular the Coromandel and Hauraki districts. That’s when you see the best come out in people, lending a hand, offering a place to stay and keeping in touch with neighbours and even folk they don’t know. Muggy, it’s a wonderful word, and it’s been on a few lips lately. Throw in sticky, moist and humid and I think we’ve got it covered. I’m catching up with family who live in Perth at the moment, now that’s hot! NCEA results are out and schools are in late this month or early in February. Over half of the month is behind us already; it’s amazing how fast it f... Read more »
