Dogs doing tricks is what it’s all about on Thursday August 17. From 1 pm in Waihi Memorial Hall you’ll enjoy a fun show, along with a sausage sizzle, raffles, a quiz and an auction. Well, the shorts can wait for another week after the hail and cold temperatures lately. That breeze keeps reminding me its spring and a few more wet days are still on the horizon. 2017 marks the 25th anniversary of World Breastfeeding Week. Waihi La Leche League is hosting a Big Latch On event for local mums to celebrate, support and promote breastfeeding. Being held from10am Friday at the Boat Club, Waihi Beach, Pio Road, Bowentown, local mums and their family, whanau and friends are invited to join this fun and supportive event. We’re just 8 weeks away from the annual GO Waihi Trolley Derby, a free event for all ages that sees trolleys hurtling, and sometimes cruising, down Haszard St. Details are below. Month number nine has arrived! September is a busy month with the arrival of spring, the elections coming up on the 23rd, daylight saving returning on Sunday 24 September and the end of another term of school on the 29th.
