GO Waihi is pleased to announce the winner of the Panasonic Viera 40" flat screen LED TV with their Snapshot Photo Competition with Waihi's Warm Up Party For Beach Hop this year. We had some fantastic entries and the judges had a difficult job choosing the winning photo. Their brief was to look from a Waihi angle for something that stood out as portraying the atmosphere of the day. There were a number of photos that made it through to the final selection the judges really liked, with this one b... Read more »
It’s been just a little nippy first thing recently, and then we get these awesome autumn days. That is apart from the couple of wet ones but hey, I’m still happy with the steady temperatures and the beautiful array of colours in the trees at the moment. It’s interesting seeing the mixed clothing choices with a beanie and hoodie being worn alongside a singlet and shorts pretty popular right now. PICTURE WORTH A THOUSAND WORDSActually, this photo was worth a brand new Panasonic Viera 40” F... Read more »

There’s also a free sausage sizzle for volunteers and that feeling of satisfaction of having a tidy, clean and safe park for locals and visitors to use. Read more »

A couple of nice hot soups and a stew or two enjoyed already and I’m just starting the cooler months. The best part is if there’s any seconds, or some for lunch tomorrow, if you’re lucky. I hope your Queen’s Birthday went as planned or better and now it’s time to hunker down for four and a half months of no public holidays until Labour Day! Or, you could plan for a break or two, even an extended weekend, just to break it up. A thought for your health … how often is the ‘enter’ bu... Read more »

I’m kind of hopeful we get a repeat of last weekend’s weather this weekend. We had a couple of great days to get those outside jobs done. For me, it was a section tidy with an emphasis on leaves! A ton of them have fallen and it was good to get them composting. One more downfall and I reckon we’ll be just about set for spring. By this time next week we will have enjoyed our longest night, or shortest day, and hopefully, it won’t be too long before the afternoons start to lengthen a littl... Read more »
