Waihi’s Warm Up Party for Beach Hop with GO Waihi, OceanaGold, Thiess Global Mining and Hauraki District Council is this Wednesday, right through the CBD downtown in Waihi. Roads will be closed and the streets filled with hundreds of classic cars and hot rods, people dancing and enjoying the atmosphere and lots dressing up for the occasion. Dozens of stalls will add to the glittering array of goods and products that the shops have on sale. It’s a fun day whether you’re into cars or not. There’ll be three bands playing through the day and plenty of food and refreshments through the cafes, restaurants and eateries, together with even more food stalls. Things kick off around 9 am and wrap up at 3 pm. Get ready to Rock ‘n’ Roll with FUN for everyone!

Get your camera out, take some shots that show off the action and Waihi in some way, sort through your best pics and send them to GO Waihi by Friday April 15. What captures that Waihi perspective on the day? The competition’s open to amateur photographers and the judge’s decision is final. Email single photos to email@example.com, put them on a disc and drop them off to Gold FM upstairs on the corner of Seddon and Haszard Streets in Waihi or post them to GO Waihi, PO Box 34, Waihi 3641.
