Waihi’s Warm Up Party for Beach Hop kicks things off with a hiss and a roar, as 400 to 500 hot rods and classic cars descend on Waihi.

We close Seddon St off to fit as many in as possible. Then we close Rosemont Rd and the side streets to fit even more in. We have prizes for the best dressed male and female, the best hot rod and classic car trophies, we have the original Gold FM Drag Race, and then of course there are the three bands playing through town, the Hop Stop and Shop competition with Sony, sales and specials through the shops and stalls and heaps more.

WORTH A SHOT: We’d like to see some pictures and video of Waihi’s Warm Up Party for Beach Hop on March 28. We’re even willing to give away a prize for the best pictures and video (by an amateur).
