On the fourth Wednesday of each month the Waihi branch of the NZ Society of Genealogists meets at the Waihi Art Centre and Museum Gallery in Kenny St, starting at 1 pm.

As you’d expect with the Waihi Branch of the NZ Society of Genealogists they’re looking back into history on Wednesday 27 June. Meeting at the Waihi Art Centre and Museum in Kenny St there’ll be a video of the 1912 Miners Strike and local Fred Evans, and also the Waikino School shooting of 19 October 1923. Guests are welcome to join them for an interesting afternoon and cup of something hot. It’s $5 to become a member, $3 at the door for visitors unless there’s a guest speaker when it’s $5.
