On the fourth Wednesday of each month the Waihi branch of the NZ Society of Genealogists meets at the Waihi Art Centre and Museum Gallery in Kenny St, starting at 1 pm.

This month they have their AGM followed by a talk by Harriet Taylor titled ‘Another Tasmanian Convict Story’. Through the year their programme includes a video of Fred Evens and the 1912 miners’ strike, the Waikino School shooting and possibly a trip to Auckland to visit Archives NZ. The door charge is $3 and $5 when they have a guest speaker, and includes a cuppa and chat.
