The combined schools Matariki Celebrations continue with an open invitation for the community to join them at the Waihi Community Marae on Tuesday the 21st between 4 pm and 8 pm. There's plenty on, with performances from local schools, the Kahurangi Dance Theatre, all sorts of Maori kai, demonstrations of weaving, stick, string and poi games and traditional Maori games you can take part in.
Entry's just a gold coin, and remember there are spot prizes and crafts on display too.
Don't forget you're also invited to be part of the hikoi, or walk, starting at 10 am at Gilmour Lake heading to the Pumphouse on Friday July 1st.
