This 5km event first appeared in 2007 and is on again this year (wet or fine) to raise money for St. Joseph's school. Proceeds will be used towards the cost of interactive whiteboards for the classrooms.
The route will be anti-clockwise around the pit, taking runners from the Waihi Rugby clubgrounds, across Newmont Waihi Gold land at Brickfield Rd. and Grey St. and on to the new section of walkway.
Who can enter?Entants of any age are welcome.
PrizesWinner's prizes will be for the open men's, open women's, 11 to 14 years and junior categories. There will also be spot-prizes for children and adults.
