It's 'Back On Track' for the Goldfields Railway train.
The official relaunch relaunch ceremony was held last Sunday with a train trip to Waikino Railway Station. There'll was an official ribbon cutting ceremony before the train headed over the Keith Wrigley Memorial Bridge. The bridge has just been put back in place after having to be removed for repairs - it was struck earlier this year by an over-height truck and trailer unit and its load.
This trip starts at 11:00am from the Waihi Railway Station. This will be the only trip for this week so get onboard!
Cadbury Crunchie bars will be on board for lucky children too!
Pack a snack or picnic and enjoy a unique view of the Waihi and Karangahake region while travelling back in time in a closed in carriage, or if it's fine, on board the open air carriage. Guaranteed fun for all the family during Go Waihi's Goldfest 2008.
Note: The price is for this trip only.
