It's almost here and there is something like 20 local teams and several individuals entered for the race.
Swimming, kayaking, running, riding and possibly puffing from time to time, they start at Athenree, head around past Bowentown, along the beach to the North End of Waihi Beach, before heading over the hills to Homunga Bay and up to Ngatitangata Rd.
Then the course heads into town over farms and roads, finishing with a run around the Pit Rim to the finish line at the Pumphouse.
There's a children's race, the
Junior Survivor, on Sunday morning the
25th at the Rugby Club and Pumphouse too.
