When:
Wednesday, 17 March 2010
Details:
Town's gone green already, and tomorrow there'll no doubt be a few leprechauns, a lucky four leaf clover or two and definitely the lilting tones of an Irish jig or two downtown as well.
It's our annual
St Patrick's Day Best Dressed Window Competition, and it's all based on time, effort and creativity. Judging by the last couple of years, the competition will be strong, there'll be lots of fun with staff dressing up, and we may see the poles, trees and seating outside shops and businesses taking on a 'green tinge' too.
Remember, if you haven’t got much window space, do up the inside of your store. We've even got Murphy's Law in town entertaining with Irish music through the day. It would be great to see a sea of green in the CBD, whether you're involved in the competition or just coming into town. Dress up and be part of the fun.
Postscript:
We had a great time with the St Patrick's Day Best Dressed Window Competition last Wednesday. Town went green, there were even some interesting additions to the statues in town, and it was great to see hats and balloons that blew away in the wind being put back on.
Congratulations and enjoy your prizes. And a big thanks to all the shops, the owners, managers and staff for getting in behind the day, actually several days. It adds to the flavour in town and it never ceases to amaze, the enthusiasm to get involved and take part.
