2019 so far is a year of change for GO Waihi

We are all so lucky to live in an area where natures tranquil beauty is on display only a footstep away. This photo was taken during the School holidays on an adventure to Whiritoa. The water was calm and clear, and people gathered to view a pod of Orca making their way down the east coast. The shoreline is forever changing, you can expect this view will not be the same tomorrow.

2019 so far is a year of change for GO Waihi. We first introduced new coordinator Casey Williams on 1st July, and we are now introducing you to the GO Waihi refreshed web page. A refreshed website will bring to you better coverage of what is going on in Waihi, a one stop information portal. GO Waihi will not only promote their organised events but other activities facilitated by local organisation groups. If you have an event you want promoted on here, then please ensure you submit the event details for inclusion.

GO Waihi is ready to sum up their previous year at their AGM which is being held 19th November, 6:30pm at the Memorial Hall. Come to find out for yourself how the organisation performed for the year. If you would like to invest some of your spare time to GO Waihi, please ensure you express your interest for committee positions by 14th November or if you have some expertise to share and would like to volunteer your time on a more casual basis, then please let us know as well.

Casey Williams, new coordinator, has been out and about making connections with community groups, businesses and wider area town promotions teams. Casey is excited to be included in a number of event committees, including ECHO Walking Festival (28th March to 19th April 2020) and the Hauraki Business Awards. She is ticking off visits to businesses, meeting with the locals, and hearing their ideas on how to make Waihi more vibrant and enticing. If you feel like you have been missed with visits from our coordinator, do not fear, Casey has a hit list of places to visit and you will be next. You are also welcome to pop into the GO Waihi office at 26 Rosemont Road, sandwiched in between 100% and Farm Source.
